For instance, when musicians are discussing guitarists, they need only say "Mike," and everyone knows they're talking about Mike Lent. A Pacific Grove native, Lent has been a professional musician since the age of 15.

For longtime local musician Linda Arceo, the concept applies to her reemergence as a solo artist. She had taken a public hiatus from music after her band, Trusting Lucy, reached its end and everyone went their own way.

More than 20 years since she taught herself how to play the guitar without sheet music, Monterey-based singer-songwriter Linda Arceo is giving back to charities close to her heart, like women’s shelters and Girls Inc. June 25, she played a benefit concert for Arms of Angels grief counseling center.
